Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance

- Promoting early cancer diagnosis across the community sector

Cheshire West Voluntary Action (CWVA) is working in partnership with Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance to deliver a community engagement project aimed at promoting early cancer diagnosis.

Now more than ever, it’s important that health, social care and community sector organisations all work together to achieve better outcomes for families across the region, and this community engagement project is a significant step forwards in the collective efforts to combat cancer by focusing on early diagnosis.

CWVA will play a pivotal role in this project by providing expertise, support and training to local community sector groups, empowering them to engage with communities effectively and deliver crucial cancer prevention and early detection messages.

Community sector organisations know their communities well, talk to them regularly and a conversation might be all that is needed for a screening appointment to be taken up.

People are often unsure about attending screening appointments, or just don’t want to think about their health, so being able to reach out to organisations they know and are comfortable with could make a real difference.
